The pricing is a little high, but as I've learned (read my Zoombak disaster) you get what you pay for.I keep this device in an enclosed trailer for some added security, and when the battery gets low, you are notified. You have unlimited locates, and the shock and perimeter functions work flawlessly as well.

Review it carefully for your area.This is user-submitted content, so anything that any user adds get added to the file.The bulk of the contents in my area are speed traps and school zones (along with some incorrect and correct red light cameras).The speed traps are all over the place. The GPS goes off CONSTANTLY with speed traps.It goes off so much that I don't even really "hear it" any more.When the alert is so frequent that it goes off all the time, every time you drive, it defeats the purpose.I've lived here for 15 years and while I have no doubt that at one time a police officer probably sat at all of the so called speed trap locations, the fact that that location is a frequent speed trap location is a joke.What happens is one customer saw a cop there one time and submitted it to the site.Suddenly that becomes a "speed trap?"I don't think so.All I can say is review their website map yourself for your area before you buy and see all the massive, ridiculous quantity of locations in the file.Decide for yourself whether you want to be subjected to all of those alerts all the time.

The M25 has definitely proven itself as well. Since owning it I have 'survived' 3 laser traps without incident. The first one is always the worst, because that's when you find out whether or not you mounted the laser emitters properly. I'm proof that it is possible to properly mount them in an Infiniti G35 Sedan. My last incident the cop was less than 100' away when he tagged me. I was definitely going at a speed that would have made his day, yet he didn't get a read. The M25's alarm went off 2x so it was obvious he tried more than once. The amusing part is the guy that was behind me in the other lane traveling the same speed I was ended up getting busted. Undoubtedly he thought it was due to chance, little did he know it was due to being under-prepared.As more and more cops move to Laser guns, I wouldn't be caught behind the wheel of my car without an Mxx Blinder kit.----- Original Review -----

I will preface this review by stating that I do not currently own this particular model, I own the M20 Blinder (prev gen) and it is so good that I am on this site today to purchase the latest model (M25), knowing it can only be better. I am upgrading because the M20 has known punch through at around 100M whereas the M25 advertises no punch through all the way to the gun.

Based on my M20 experiences they are worth their weight in gold. I used to live in Atlanta GA and all they used were laser guns. Due to the 9 lane highways radar just wouldn't work. I have always had my Valentine 1 radar detector but after moving to Atlanta and getting my first laser ticket I realized I had to do something.

About two weeks of research later I settled upon the M20 kit. Installation is a bit of a pain, esp if you have a car without a proper grill, but I managed. In the 3yrs I lived in Atlanta it had 0 false alerts and blocked 4 laser attempts.

One of the attempts was truly incredible to me, in Atlanta they have a bad habit of lining cops down the downramps to the highway and a single cop standing in the middle of the overpass with a laser gun tagging everyone that passes beneath. I saw the cop and the laser gun and thought there was no way the M20 would be able to return fire at such a steep up angle, especially since due to my car's design I had to mount the emitters near the bottom by the fog lights. I wouldn't even have blamed the M20 if it didn't manage to block the laser.

To my amazement, it actually worked, managed to block the laser almost straight up, and saved me from what I will only describe as a ticket that could have resulted in jail time. I still have the M20 kit, but will purchse the M25 without hesitation because peace of mind is priceless.

One thing I do strongly recommend to everyone else is you must combine this kit with a quality radar detector, for me my V1 is second to none; when I put the two together cops do not stand a chance, typical detection distances are over 5 miles.

(More customer reviews)In anticiption of an upcoming 1000 mile road trip, and knowing my tendancy to drive a bit fast, I decided to purchase a radar detector.Having never owned one in the past, I did extensive research and settled on the Passport Escort 9500i and I wasn't disappointed.

During my 1000 mile round trip, 600 miles of it was in Trooper laden Washington State.No less than a dozen times, the Escort was able to give me enough advanced warning of either rolling radar or stationary laser speed traps to get down into the speed limit and avoid a ticket.

You'd expect this though.That's its function.The extras on this really make the 9500i shine though.With the built in GPS, you can permanently silence those annoying false positives from the grocery store or fixed "Your Speed" signs.However, if you roll through a silenced area and a NEW radar signal is detected, it will alert you immediately.

If you drive a bit fast over long distances, or even can open it up on your daily commute, I'd highly recommend the added protection of the 9500i.

(Know your limits and don't speed where it isn't safe.The Escort is awesome, but it doesn't make you crash-proof.)

I have been very impressed by this detector. It does what it's supposed to do and comes with no frills unlike the other more expensive detectors with voice, compass, GPS...etc
The only drawback I see from this detector (as with most detectors) is that it's pretty hopeless when it's up against Laser (Lidar) guns. When you hear the warning, it's already too late to react. It's not sensitive enough to pick up reflected/refracted laser signals from the cars ahead. And I doubt the rearward facing laser sensor is of any real use either.
And sometimes, it falses on the emergency services band (giving an ambulance-like siren tone).
But overall, it's a decent detector, and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a good radar detector without overshooting the $$$$range.

Stay alert
