The M25 has definitely proven itself as well. Since owning it I have 'survived' 3 laser traps without incident. The first one is always the worst, because that's when you find out whether or not you mounted the laser emitters properly. I'm proof that it is possible to properly mount them in an Infiniti G35 Sedan. My last incident the cop was less than 100' away when he tagged me. I was definitely going at a speed that would have made his day, yet he didn't get a read. The M25's alarm went off 2x so it was obvious he tried more than once. The amusing part is the guy that was behind me in the other lane traveling the same speed I was ended up getting busted. Undoubtedly he thought it was due to chance, little did he know it was due to being under-prepared.As more and more cops move to Laser guns, I wouldn't be caught behind the wheel of my car without an Mxx Blinder kit.----- Original Review -----

I will preface this review by stating that I do not currently own this particular model, I own the M20 Blinder (prev gen) and it is so good that I am on this site today to purchase the latest model (M25), knowing it can only be better. I am upgrading because the M20 has known punch through at around 100M whereas the M25 advertises no punch through all the way to the gun.

Based on my M20 experiences they are worth their weight in gold. I used to live in Atlanta GA and all they used were laser guns. Due to the 9 lane highways radar just wouldn't work. I have always had my Valentine 1 radar detector but after moving to Atlanta and getting my first laser ticket I realized I had to do something.

About two weeks of research later I settled upon the M20 kit. Installation is a bit of a pain, esp if you have a car without a proper grill, but I managed. In the 3yrs I lived in Atlanta it had 0 false alerts and blocked 4 laser attempts.

One of the attempts was truly incredible to me, in Atlanta they have a bad habit of lining cops down the downramps to the highway and a single cop standing in the middle of the overpass with a laser gun tagging everyone that passes beneath. I saw the cop and the laser gun and thought there was no way the M20 would be able to return fire at such a steep up angle, especially since due to my car's design I had to mount the emitters near the bottom by the fog lights. I wouldn't even have blamed the M20 if it didn't manage to block the laser.

To my amazement, it actually worked, managed to block the laser almost straight up, and saved me from what I will only describe as a ticket that could have resulted in jail time. I still have the M20 kit, but will purchse the M25 without hesitation because peace of mind is priceless.

One thing I do strongly recommend to everyone else is you must combine this kit with a quality radar detector, for me my V1 is second to none; when I put the two together cops do not stand a chance, typical detection distances are over 5 miles.

One of the big car magazines cracked open a Rocky Mountain Radar unit a few years back and found only lights and wires inside. Nothing that could scramble ANYTHING. This is a fake product and this company has been selling them for years. They can get away with it because the attitude of the police regarding this fraud is that if you are going to try to buy a scrambler, it serves you right if you buy a fake one. There ARE NO WORKING Radar Jammers currently available for sale. There ARE working LASER Jammers available from other companies, but the cheapest working ones will cost you nearly $500.

By all means, if you think this works, buy it. Because Radar Roy (a retired cop) will pay you $50,000 once you have it tested and prove that you have a working passive radar jammer. Just Google "Radar Roy's Challenge"

How Does It Work?

The PHAZER 3 is a passive radar scrambler. It has an FM chirp, a mixer, and antenna for all three radar bands--X, K, Ka.
Radar
When the PHAZER 3 receives the radar signal, it mixes the signal with an FM chirp then reflects it back to the radar where the added chirp confuses the computer inside the radar gun causing the screen to remain blank. The PHAZER 3 will not scramble the roadside trailer signs because they do not have a sampling computer.
The PHAZER 3 has a 2-to-3 mile range. Once a vehicle is within 150 feet of the police radar, the radar has a chance of reading its speed. This is known as "punch-through." Drivers should adjust their speed accordingly.
Laser
The PHAZER 3 transmits a specially modulated laser beam that confuses the computer in the Lidar units up to the maximum range of the gun making your vehicle electronically invisible. There is no laser punch-through.
Note: The PHAZER 3 protects from the front only and does not alert you to the presence of police radar or laser. The PHAZER 3 is banned in UT, CA, MN, OK, NE, CO, VA, and Washington, DC.

(More customer reviews)I looked through tons of reviews and I have become convinced that the Rocky Mountain Radar Detectors are the best for the money. The only complaint on the other Rocky Mountain detectors that bothered me was that they go through a beeping cycle every time you turn the car on. That seems annoying.

I tried this one before there were any reviews on it and it has an option to turn that off. Just turn off the "TEST MODE" in the options and it doesn't beep when you turn it on. I never know that it is there until it spots a cop's radar. Sometimes it goes off around department store entrances, but other than that it works great and it has saved me from getting tickets just in the last few weeks.

I bought another one or my wife's minivan and she loves it too.

Radar/Laser Detector
The RMR-C475 gives you 360-degree detection of all Radar bands (X, K, Ka, SuperWide, Pulse, Instant-On) and all Laser Speed Devices (Pro-Laser, LTI, Laser-Lite, and Stalker). Adaptive laser tracking (ALT) ensures better laser performance.
Integrated Radar/Laser Scrambler
In addition to detection, The RMR-C475 will scramble all radar and Lidar guns.

Laser Scrambler
Lidar sends out laser pulses and measures how long it takes to hit your car and come back. From the speed of light it can determine your range. It sends out several more pulses and calculates your speed from the change in distance over time. The RMR-C475 transmits pulses electronically timed at 100 feet apart. This only allows the Lidar to see up to 100 feet so it is unable to calculate your speed.


Radar Scrambler
It works on all police radar bands (X, K, Ka, super wide). Inside the scrambler are 3 elements: an FM chirp generator, a mixer diode and a dual ridge wave-guide antenna. When the scrambler is hit by a signal it runs it through the mixer, adding the FM chirp to mix up the signal and using the antenna, reflect back this new signal to the radar gun. The radar gun's computer can't recognize the new signal; it gets confused and won't display a reading on the gun, leaving a blank screen.

Visual and Voice Alert

Advanced Micro-Scan
Scans the radar bands 2-4 times faster than as any other detector. This allows Rocky Mountain devices to pick up the new P.O.P. radar that no one else can.

When Rocky Mountain devices detect radar in one scan, they repeat that scan, instead of completing programmed scans and returning. This means they detect quicker with less false alarms than any other detector.
VG-2 and VG-3 Immunity
VG-2 and VG-3 are devices police use to detect radar detectors. This model provides the benefit of 'undetectability' by alerting you to the presence of VG-2 and VG-3 signals.
Safety Alert and Safety Warning System

City Mode
The false-alert are often caused in urban areas by automatic door openers and alarm systems. The RMR-8RD features a City mode, in which the X band is not detected and K/Ka band sensitivity is lowered.

(More customer reviews)I got this for Christmas last year.My wife ordered it from Overstock and installed it as soon as I opened it on Christmas.For the first couple of days while driving around it wouldn't go off.I thought it was defective until I came within a mile of a speed trap.Then it went off like crazy.The only thing I don't like about it is the range.It says 1 mile or longer but not quite that far.
