(More customer reviews)I purchased this unit a few months ago and I am happy with it.The windshield clip is pretty lame and I do not like the way it blocks part of the view out my windshield.I went to whistlers web site and ordered a non-skid pad to set the unit directly on the dashboard.My dashboard is flat and it sits well on there and does not slide around.Until I got that pad, I was not real happy with the mounting options. You could do the same thing with two way tape, or Velcro - but it would be hard to remove the unit and put the unit in the glove box when the car is parked.
I wanted a cordless unit so I don't have the power cable hanging across the dashboard. I like the rechargeable feature, if the batteries go dead while I am driving, I just plug in the adapter and I can still use the unit while it is charging.

The most important thing I want to say about this one is...It does NOT have that ever annoying BEEP BEEP that penetrates through your skull that forces you to mute the thing and then you forget it went off and see the source of the detection!! IT HAS A PLEASANT TONE (as pleasant as a tone warning you about a speed trap can be...)!!And it even slowly fades quieter... Oh... I LOVE this detector! I plan on replacing all my others with this model! On a side note.. it is also much moer light weight than others.. so when you hit one of those front-end killing pot holes thatare all over our great nation, it will NOT fall dramatically from you windsheild mount and cause you to swerve throught the highway lane....

(More customer reviews)Bought this for my husband for Christmas as his old one had died. Thought it would be a great unit, but when asking him, he had several complaints. Seems with our vehicle being cold when you get in, it takes awhile for the unit to "warm up" and turn on. When it goes off when passing something (radar, electronic doors, etc.), it takes a few minutes of it not working before the light comes back on (the "H" for highway, etc.). Not sure what causes this, but it's annoying, as, by then, we could have passed another police car with radar. We'll be contacting the company about this.
